
Activities
The association undertakes the activities as follows:
¨ç Establish, maintain, and improve the professional ethics and qualifications of its members
¨è Encourage and promote research on psychology; gather, exchange, and distribute research findings; hold academic conferences on psychology
¨é Exchange academic material and knowledge with corresponding associations abroad
¨ê Develop professional jobs and gather and distribute information about such jobs; support the mission of professionals; protect the rights and interests of members working as professionals
¨ë Carry out other various activities to realize its purpose
Membership
¨ç Membership is granted to the person or organization that supports the purpose of the associa tion. The association has four categories of membership: Regular Membership, Special Members hip, Lifetime Membership, Associate Membership, and Institutional Membership.
¨è The qualifications of membership are as follows.
1. Regular Membership
a. A person who obtained a master¡¯s or higher degree in psychology
b. A person who obtained an bachelor¡¯s degree in psychology and has been recommended by
2 or more regular members who have held their membership for 5 or more years
c. A person who obtained a master¡¯s or higher degree in a major relevant to psychology
d. A person who has been recommended by the division chair as an essential figure for the de velopment of the society, after being voted by the board of directors of the division In this ca se, the minutes from the board of directors¡¯ meeting of the division must be attached.
2. Special Membership
a. A person who has made contributions to the development of psychology, has been recomm ended by 2 or more regular members, and has been approved by the board of directors
3. Lifetime Membership
a. A person who has been a regular member and has reached the age of 65. Lifetime members are exempt from the payment of membership fee.
4. Associate Membership
a. A person who is in or has obtained a bachelor¡¯s or master¡¯s degree in psychology or relev ant field
b. A person who has a vocational degree in a psychology related field
5. Institutional Membership
a. Department of psychology or psychology major
b. Psychology related department or major
c. Organization, company, or public body performing psychology related work
d. University or other library
¨é The rights of membership are as follows.
1. Regular Membership
a. Participates in the society¡¯s academic missions (thesis presentation, journal contribution) a nd is provided with relevant material
b. Attends and votes at the General Meeting, has the right to vote and to run for elections
2. Special Membership
a. Participates in the society¡¯s academic missions (thesis presentation, journal contribution) and is provided with relevant material
b. Attends and votes at the General Meeting. However, the member cannot be appointed as chair of the society, member of the board of directors, member of the steering committee, division chair, or head of the standing committee
3. Associate Membership
a. Participates in the society¡¯s academic missions (thesis presentation, journal contribution) and is provided with relevant material
b. Cannot participate in the General Meeting or the operation of the association
4. Institutional Membership
a. Is provided with the association¡¯s journals and newsletters
¨ê Suspension and dismissal from membership
1. A member who is delinquent in the payment of its fees shall be suspended from the associati on until all the delayed fees are paid, and all membership services are discontinued
2. If the Ethics Committee decides to dismiss a member from the association, the president shall dismiss him or her with the approval of the board of directors.
